Here's an extreme fishing tale that you won't read about in Florida Sportsman Magazine or Outdoor Life. This kind of stuff only takes
place when your fishing with the Pier Rat.
It was an early morning run to the fishing grounds for another offshore tournament in south Florida for "Team Pier Rat." It was flat calm and we were cruising along at about forty enjoying our breakfast of coffee and donuts. We arrived at our first fishing location
and put the baits out and beagn slow trolling. The video recorder was rolling as the Pier Rat turned up the radio and began dancing around the boat like a madman! The Pier Rat was dancing, singing, and swapping hats with all the fisherman on board. The "Pier Rat" has no problem staying in touch with his insanity that's for sure!
As the song was winding down, the rat grabbed a handfull of donuts and started pitching them overboard to appease the "fish Gods." As each donut went into the water the Pier Rat would say, "Sometimes you have to feed em' donuts boys!"
We didn't end up winning the tournament or even catching that much fish, so come to think of it, I never should have eaten all the creamed filled donuts on the way out, cause that's the kind the "fish Gods" prefer! (LOL)
